As a local business operating along the Bellarine Peninsula Drysdale Mowers is actively involved in the local community through a variety of sponsorships of local sporting clubs and schools, as well as local charities. Over the March labour day long weekend, we participated in our fourth annual Ryan Gatgens Memorial Charity Golf Day. Born out of a need to shed light on men’s mental health the Ryan Gatgens Team donates all the proceeds of the event to Hope Bereavement Care. Based in Geelong Hope Bereavement Care is an amazing not for profit organisation that offers information, support and counselling to our most vulnerable throughout the Barwon and South West Regions.
Mental health, and in particular, Men’s mental health is something that is extremely close to our hearts and something that we are also passionate about spreading the word! This year, as part of our Platinum sponsorship, we donated a ride on lawn mower, and some of Stihl’s most popular outdoor power equipment items, including the GTA 26 Pruner, the new SEA 20 handheld vacuum and HSA 26 Shrub Shears kit. The days event included not just a round of golf, but family fun activities, lots of live music, food trucks and coffee vans – enough fun for the entire family and more!! Each game winner on the day also took home a limited edition Stihl Esky!
With another fantastic turn out, albeit under extreme weather conditions, we eagerly await news of how much was raised at this years golf day and as always we look forward to being part of this event again next year for its Fifth year running!! Our local community is not only where our business is located, but it is also our home, and what matters to the wider Bellarine Peninsula community, matters to Drysdale Mowers!
